Olympian School of Swimming is a privately run swimming school. Founded in 1995 by Olympic finalist and Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Debi Gore.
Debi learned to swim at the age of 4 years at Harry Bates swimming school in Hambleton, the pool was the same size as the pool we use today.
By the age of 11 Debi had progressed to Fleetwood Swimming Club and became the GB National age group champion for 100m & 200m Freestyle.
By the age of 13 Debi was in the Great Britian Youth Swimming Team and at 15 years old Debi achieved a common wealth gold medal in the 4 by 100m Freestyle which was an Australian Open Record.
At 16 Years of age Debi held the British Junior record in the 100m longcourse, at this point Debi was swimming for the GB team and qualified for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics where she became a finalist and came 6th in the World.
She then with her success in swimming was given a scholarship at the University of Miami where she obtained a bachelors degree in communication, whilst at the University she swam for the all American Collegiate Swimming Team and in 1986 competed for England in the commonwealth games in Edinburgh. Debi then retired from competitive swimming in 1990 and in 1995 setup The Olympian School Of Swimming.
In 2006 Gary joined the successful team specialising in teaching babies and young children, while Debi uses her experiences as international swimmer to enhance those skills.
